TRISHA BROWN DANCE COMPANY

AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE SEASON

Part of Trisha Brown: From All Angles series.

PRESENTED BY Melbourne Festival
in association with the Dancing Architects

Over three nights, the Trisha Brown Dance Company perform two programs of Trisha Brown’s most celebrated and enduring works.

Traversing nearly the full span of her career, these programs reveal Trisha Brown’s signature approaches and constant experimentation.

This exhilarating survey of Brown’s pieces spans the silent masterpieces Solo Olos and Watermotor and her expansion into more complex and theatrical territory – including her first foray into dance with music in Son of Gone Fishin’ – along with collaborations such as Set & Reset, created in concert with designer Robert Rauschenberg and musician Laurie Anderson.

"Set & Reset – surely the most beloved and irresistible work of postmodern dance..."

The New York Times

An exceptional dance event, Pure Movement gives Melbourne audiences an unprecedented chance to experience the playfulness, the challenges and the sheer brilliance of a unique artist.

"Works by Brown don’t just challenge our perceptions; they expand our minds and untether our spirits."

THE VILLAGE VOICE

Each performance includes a pre-show talk by Melbourne dancer/choreographer Lee Serle, Rolex Protégé at the Trisha Brown Dance Company, 2010–2011.
