Australia Circus

If These Walls Could Talk

DISLOCATE

WORLD PREMIERE

Part of Circus Series series.

PRESENTED BY MELBOURNE FESTIVAL

To live in a house is to paint it in memory: layer after layer, the outrageous and the everyday, inhabiting the walls as surely as any ghost.

An intricate mesh of slapstick theatre, astonishing circus skills and powerful storytelling, If These Walls Could Talk brings to life the stories inhabiting a single apartment – a place of birth and death, joy and despair, the mundane and the beautiful – as lived by five generations of tenants.

Bristling with humour, physical prowess and deep theatrical ambition, this is an affecting portrayal of life, mortality and the things we leave behind – an poignant new work from one of Australia’s foremost independent physical theatre companies.

“One of Australia’s leading indie ensembles… make a point of seeing anything you can by Dislocate.”
