Something Very Far Away

Unicorn Theatre

FOR AGES 8+

PRESENTED BY Melbourne Festival and Arts Centre Melbourne

WRITTEN, DIRECTED & ORIGINAL SCORE BY MARK ARENDS
PUPPETS, DESIGN & ANIMATION BY MATTHEW ROBINS

LIGHTING DESIGN BY DECLAN RANDALL

From one of the UK’s leading theatres for young audiences, Unicorn Theatre, comes an evocative, one-of-a-kind performance experience: an intricate ‘live animation’, created from a puppet show in miniature and projected for the audience in real time.

“One of the best theatre shows of last year... a lovely little thing of enormous tenderness.”

THE GUARDIAN (UK)

This spellbinding mix of puppetry, music and storytelling tells the story of Kepler, an astronomer who, after losing his wife in a circus accident, builds a mighty rocket ship and embarks on an epic journey to the end of the universe. Inspirational and enchanting, Something Very Far Away weaves a quirky, nuanced tale of memory and love, space and time.
